Nothing more than useless

Do you know when you do everything right yet no one seems to notice?
Gosh! How frustrating!
It seems like no one values you in spite of all your effort…
At home, you do everything you are asked.
At work, you complete your tasks faithfully.
With your family, at school… what’s wrong with everyone?!
Can’t anybody see it?
All of that effort to complete exactly what must be done totally ignored!!!!
Well, here goes the painful answer… and please note that it’s not coming from me but from the Lord Jesus himself…
“So you also, when you have done everything you were told to do, you should say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty’” Luke 17:10
In other words friends…
When we do everything we are expected to do…
When we complete all of our responsibilities properly…
We aren’t doing anything out of the ordinary!
God expects a lot more from you and me!
Folks, this is soo strong that I am going to stop right here and let you take in the message…

  1. This is a strong message indeed. It's good to be reminded of this every once in a while so that we keep our feet grounded and remember that even when we give our all, do our best, we are still unworthy servants.
We can always do more and do better.

  3. This is true and being ordinary, will not take you anywhere in life.... you will only be an unprofitable servant.

  4. It’s so true that we expect appreciation from people after we fulfill a task. But servants always do more than what is required and will not even expect people to appreciate because he is doing for God. If we have an excellent spirit we will do something because we want to please God and we do everything as if we were doing for God. And for a person to say I’m unworthy after fulfilling a certain task only shows how humble the person is before God.

  5. this is true, I don't want to be unworthy or ordinary; sometimes we can forget and don't realize that we are being useless when we are doing everything we are suppose to be doing. Thanks for this post, i am definitely taking this in!

  6. Very strong indeed. At times it feels like no one notices what we do, but He does, He always does, and He knows how much more we are capable of doing and that is what He is expecting from us, more! Not just what is enough, what is expected, but more, our all and the best.
It's a joy when we do more to serve Him so why not do it always. Very inspiring.
    Thank you Mrs.Nanda.

  7. Very true, great, strong message, we are not consider unwhorty because everything we do even the simplest task we do it to gratify the Lord Jesus, no for the people around us. The good servant always tries and does his best to gratify the only one God.

    Thanks Mrs. Nanda

  9. Strong indeed, when we do what we are expected to do, we are simply being ordinary servants, but when we do more, go the extra mile, do our best in every single thing, than we can be called faithful servants. Thanks for this message Mrs. Nanda.

  11. Human being are always looking for glory, looking for people who will admire and recognise who wonderful, good, special, efficient,.... we are! Shame on us! It's good for us to keep this verse in our hearts, so every time our flesh tries to bring this feelings up, we just rebuke it and remember we are just servants, nothing else.

  12. Thank you for the message. As humans we are always looking for praise. We want everyone to notice the good things we have done. Feelings that are not even worth thinking of. We have to understand that daily whatever we do or overcome something it is what God expects of us.

  13. When we do things to please men we need to be careful..otherwise we may become proud. But when we do it for God a verse like this should not put us down but to help us to remember where we stand before God. in the eyes of God we are an unworthy servant. As servants we must accept and look for ways to reach the next level in our duties or responsibility.

Thank you for the reminder xxx

  14. It is enough that the eyes of God can see everything we do and with what intention we do it, so to Him be all the glory! And for a servant of God doing so for His glory only that should be enough also...

  15. That is it! I get it, I really do, just doing what we are told is just normal but to do what was not expected of us is to excel and when I read this I think of King David, he always excelled in what he did, he always went the extra mile, he never did what he was told to do. Instead he went the second mile and that's what I believe stood out for God. That's why he was a man after Gods own heart because he knew God always expected more from him then the ordinary. I really needed this today, and because of this I will continue to do what is not expected of me to do always.

  18. This is a strong message. I have sometimes felt under appreciated, especially when I feel like I'm doing something out of the ordinary! I have been told that I do it for Jesus and that is true I do it for Jesus.

  19. This is true Mrs Nanda, sometimes we even think we deserve to be recognized because of what we did or do forgeting that we are servants of God and a servant does not have a right for anything.
